Our staff does a diaper check and change on a schedule throughout the day, in addition to spot changes when needed. If your child is potty training please also bring extra clothes for your child. See center for our potty training practices. With the young children, we do allow a soft 'lovie' or small 'blankie' for comfort while at Green Kids. For safety reasons, we DO NOT ALLOW ANY OUTSIDE TOYS in our facility. Please see the center for rules with personal electronic in our facility. Please understand we have children here as young as 12 months. All of our play toys are safe for all ages! Everything needs to be labeled with your child’s name. Late Child Pick-Up:
A charge of $1.00 a minute per child will be assessed to parents who leave their child beyond regular closing time.
Arrival and Departure of your Child:
For the safety of your child and security reasons, there are certain regulations governing the arrival and departure of each child.
To expedite your first visit, please register your child(ren) here before you arrive. On your first visit, we will confirm all of your registration information. Your child will be checked in by a staff member. Once checked in your child can remove their shoes and are welcome to come in the small door, wash hands, and play!
Parents, please do not escort your child into the play space. If you want to tour we are more than happy to do so, but our insurance prohibits parents from being inside the play area without a Green Kids staff member.
During check out/payment you will be given the exact amount of minutes used on the visit.
A Green Kids staff member will buzz your child through the secure door.
Only listed authorized persons with a photo on file (or photo I.D.) will be allowed to pick up/drop off your child. If someone other than the parent or guardian were picking up the child he/she would be released to the people listed in the registration only after photo I.D. has been seen. In situations of custody agreements, the center will follow the advice of court-ordered documents.
All monies owed to Green Kids are paid upon departure.
Emergency Situations and Accidents:
A fire emergency and weather alert plan is posted in each area. It explains all actions to be taken by the staff in these situations.
All staff members are trained and certified in First Aid and CPR. Instructions from the poison control center or a physician will be followed when providing first aid procedures or administering emergency medications.
In the event of an accident or emergency, 911 will be called and the parent will be called. If the parent cannot make it to the center prior to the transport of a child by an EMT a staff member will accompany the child. All pertinent data and any health record information on file will be transported with the child.
We immediately call the emergency number provided. Please be aware that if we are calling, it is regarding an emergency concerning your child/children.
An incident/injury report will be completed and signed by the staff member in charge when the following occur:
1. An illness, accident or injury which requires first aid treatment; or
2. A bump or blow to the head; or
3. Emergency transporting; or
4. An unusual or unexpected event which jeopardizes the safety of the children or caregivers.
Once the information has been conveyed to the parent/authorized adult and any questions are answered they will be asked to sign the incident report acknowledging they have been given the information. A copy will be provided.

Green Kids Drop-In Centers does not administer regular medication. We will administer life-saving medications (EpiPen).
Behavior Guidance Policy:
We understand that children need clear limits which are set in ways that do not negatively influence their self-esteem or keep them from developing their full human potential. We believe that all of the children should experience a safe fun atmosphere. Our open room environment provides the children with opportunities to explore within consistent, age-appropriate limits. In general, limits are set to keep a child from hurting themselves, to keep a child from hurting others, or to keep a child from infringing on others' property. Limits are set positively. Each age group has similar needs for limits but useful techniques vary with the child’s developmental level. If behavioral issues occur, our philosophy is to enable the children to make decisions and take responsibility for their own actions. We work hard to minimize behavioral issues while having a positive environment for all the children.
When situations occur we will redirect the child. We will offer a different toy or suggest a new activity to the child who is showing undesirable behavior. We also will explain to the child that their behavior was inappropriate and will show them an appropriate way to handle the situation.
We will always give the child attention for appropriate behavior and reinforce the positive actions.
If redirection is needed the child will be removed from the group. This will allow time to relax and not be influenced by peers. The process is as follows: The child is supervised in a separate area and will have access to quiet activities and materials while calming down. If this method is unsuccessful at changing the child's behavior, we will call you and ask that the child be picked up.
Parents, Green Kids wants every child to have a fun and safe time playing! Children must be able to follow our 12 basic rules.
Guidelines For Immediate Disenrollment
Green Kids will disenroll any child whose behavior creates a risk of harm to the health and safety of other children and staff.
Getting your children involved with Green Kids is a quick and easy process. Our registration is designed with three goals in mind:
Your child’s safety, clear communication with you and a rewarding experience for your child.
1. Safety is our number one priority and the registration process helps provide all of the information we need to ensure the safety of your child.
2. Clear communication is essential, therefore we need information on how and with whom we can communicate.
3. Finally we need general information from each family so we can anticipate and meet the unique needs of each child when they are learning with us.
1. Fill out the registration form online to expedite the enrollment process (or you can fill out the form in person). Don't worry the information is secure and there is no cost or obligation by registering!
2. Bring your child in to the Green Kids Center for completion of the registration to get:
~Pictures of the authorized adults for pick up
~To discuss any special needs and review all registration information
3. Drop you kids off and do what YOU need to do!
Every child is unique and we believe that success and growth come from encouragement and praise. Our care givers focus on building every child’s self esteem and confidence through positive feedback and rewards. We nurture their natural strengths. A child sees the world around them with wonder and awe, we believe in encouraging their natural curiosity.
