Creative ~ Personable ~ Dependable
I am a Pennsylvania native who is fairly new to the Raleigh/Durham area. I received my Bachelor’s degree from New York University in English and Creative Writing. While tutoring for the America Reads program in college, I was bitten by the “teaching bug”. Following that, I received a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Bloomsburg University. I was an English instructor for two years in Pennsylvania before making my bold move below the Mason Dixon line. Since then I have taught for Knowledge Points Tutoring Center in Apex and served tables at Tobacco Road Sports Café in Raleigh and Durham. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing short stories, and playing my guitar. I am a singer/songwriter and often play at open mic nights in downtown Raleigh.
Two years ago, I became an aunt, and the joy I receive from playing with my nephews, making them laugh, and watching them learn, is a feeling I would like to continue to experience. Naturally, I am thrilled to be working for Green Kids! After seeing first hand how busy kids can keep their parents, I understand the importance of a drop-in center. I am eager to uphold the fantastic reputation at Green Kids and to make it a fun and friendly environment for your children.

Outgoing ~ Energetic ~ Cheerful
Ever since I can remember, I have known that I have wanted to help people (especially children). Knowing my love of working with children had to be satisfied; I began my studies with hopes of working in the adoption field. In May of 2009, I graduated from East Carolina University wit...h my Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Although my path is leading me in a different direction, I am excited to see what my future holds. One of the most important things in my life is my family. As the youngest of four, with seven nieces and nephews and dozens of cousins, I have been around children all my life. My family has had a major impact on the person I have become. I am sure I would not be where I am today without them and the adventures I have experienced with them. The best part about getting together with my family is having the kids run all around seeing what they can get into next. The best part about Green Kids is that I get to play all day, everyday. Being with the children always makes me feel good. I love being there to play the dragon, princess or even just to be a friend.

SARAH
Creative ~ Cheerful ~ Calm
Hi, my name is Sarah. I am from Asheville, NC. I graduated this summer from UNC-CH with a BA in History and Anthropology.
I have a great love of education and learning, and firmly believe that it should be a daily activity. I love to help the green kids learn more about their world, and I really enjoy the enthusiasm that they bring to everything they do.
I also have a passion for arts and crafts, and I love helping the kids realize all of the amazing things that they can make with their hands. The best thing about Green Kids is talking with the kids, and playing the endlessly creative games they make up themselves. I have enjoyed meeting all of the green kids, and look forward to playing with them everyday!
